The chart is built from the Birth Data, and it contains 4 Columns (Pillars) and 2 rows. Each Column contains a couple of Heavenly Stem - Earthly Branch. This document explains the concepts and makes different appraisals.

Preliminary Remark:
In the present document, we are studying a Natal Chart with the techniques of
the Ba Zi Chinese Astrology, also called Eight Words
or Four Pillars of the Destiny, or even Zi Ping,
from the name of one of its well-known specialists.
This method is different
from the main branch of Chinese Astrology, the Zi Wei Dou Shu,
which builds a chart made of 12 boxes filled with the names of 109 energies.
Some basic notions on
the Chinese Calendar:
There are 10 Heavenly Stems: Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding,
Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren and Gui. 5 are
of Yin polarity, 5 are Yang.
And there are 12 Earthly Branches (which are the famous animals
of the Chinese Zodiac): Zi (Rat), Chou (Buffalo or Ox), Yin
(Tiger), Mao (Cat or Rabbit), Chen (Dragon), Si (Snake), Wu
(Horse), Wei (Goat), Shen (Monkey), You (Rooster), Xu
(Dog) and Hai (Boar or Pig). 6 are Yin, 6 are Yang.
If we build couples with
the elements of these 2 series, we get 120 couples, or binomials. If we just
keep those having only Yin elements or only Yang elements, we have 60
binomials:
In a Chinese Date, there
are 4 "Pillars": one for the Year, one for the Month, one for
the Day and one for the Hour.
All these Pillars are one of the sixty possible binomials. And is thus a
combination of 2 elements or "words” that is 8 Words at the end.
Each Year is thus part
of a cycle of 60 Years, wich begins with the #1 binomial, Jia-Zi
(for instance, 1984 is a Jia-Zi year).
Inside a given Year, each of the 12 Months is associated with one of the 60
binomials: the cycle starts again every 5 years (12*5=60).
Same thing for each Day of the Year: the cycle is used 6 times a year, and,
each Year, we have 6 days having the same binomial as our birth day. These are
6 special days, known to present the same energetic potential as our
birthday. Your special days for the current year are listed at the end
of this document.

Notion of Hidden Stems
Each Branch is associated with one or several of the 10 Heavenly Stems, which
bring their own meaning.
For instance, the Branch of the Dragon (Chen) which is
"Yang-Earth” is associated with the Hidden Stems Wu, Yi
and Gui, which bring the connotation "Yang Earth",
"Yin Wood" and "Yin Water".
General Characteristics of your Animal Sign
The simplest method is based on the sole Birth
Year. This often gives some pieces of information but remains very vague since
all the persons born on the same year would have the same characteristics.
Your Chinese animal is the Goat.
Kind and gentle, the Goat is emotional, or even shy. He tries to be
liked by everyone. Touchy, passive and lazy, not really ambitious, very
imaginative, artistic, he hates to be disturbed in his dreams. Eccentric, he
likes neither routine nor discipline, and never arrives on time. Anyway, he
loves to stay at home. Generous and attracted by mysticism, he hates violence.
Concerning your Birth Year Binomial:
This
couple Branch-Stem is the Binomial N° 32: Yi-Wei or Wood Goat.
It is associated with the sound N° 16, Metal (gold) in the sands of the desert.
Some call it the serious Sheep.
It characterizes the chinese years Yi-Wei or Goat of AT in Vietnamese, for
instance 1835,1895,1955,2015...
Loving, generous, honest, the Wood Goat seeks harmony; he is ready to sacrifice
himself for his family.
Naïve, sometimes childish, loathing pressure, dreamy, he is overflowing with
imagination, and can even prove to be a visionary. The Wood Goat is often a
lucky person.
This Binomial (32) is
said to be good.
There are other methods which only examine the Birth Year. For instance,
you can read, at the end of the present document, the analysis of the Annual
Number (9 Star Ki Astrology). A more complete method, based on
the numerological Analysis of the Birth Date, is also provided.
However, the most interesting Pillar is the Day Pillar (also called Day
Master). Its Heavenly Stem indicates the true personality of the person.
For instance, if the stem of your Day Master is Jia or Yi,
you are Wood, if the stem is Bing or Ding, you are
Fire etc.
The strength of this element must then be analyzed. And its equilibrium
as well: how this element is supported, attacked or generated
Before beginning this important analysis, let's examine the Yin-Yang
balance of this chart.
Yin-Yang Analysis:
Yin and Yang are polarities:
Yin symbolizes night, mystery,
gestation, nourishing earth, stillness, lower parts, north, cold, women,
unconscious.
Yang symbolizes day, light, brightness,
sun, movement, upper parts, South, heat, energy, men, concrete.
Women can have a Yang
polarity, they will then be determined, masculine and extrovert women.
Yin men are more gentle, artistic, imaginative and introverted.
Half of the 12 Earthly
Branches (or animals) are Yin, the other half being Yang. The same is true for
the 10 Heavenly Stems.
The Yin appears 2 times
over 8: you are Very
Yang.
If we take into account the notion of the
Stems which are hidden inside the Branches, we obtain the following result: 11
Yin /20 ==>Very Yin.
Analysis of the Natal
Element (the element of the
Heavenly Stem of the Day Master)
The strength of the Stem of the Master Day depends on the season of the birth,
on the support from the stems and hidden stems of the different pillars, on the
harmony between these branches...

We'll see further what
can be said on this strength or weakness of the Natal Element.
Water
is mystery, coldness, internalization. Introverted, you are shy and not very
daring. You communicate in a silent way, through the unconscious, at the level

Master with the help of the other stems
Evaluating the four
pillars of a chart consists in weighing the Day Master, i.e. the stem of the
day pillar. The remaining of the chart corresponds to the different parts of
the scales which will be used for: the pivot, the pans, the weights...
The Six Relations and the Ten Aspects:
If we compare the Heavenly Stem of each Pillar (the hidden stems included) with
the Stem of the Master Day, which symbolizes ME, the owner of this chart, we
obtain 5 cases, called the Relations, depending on the elements of the 2 stems:

Fellows:
symbolized by MY element. It is also called “ Your” element.
If, for instance, the stem of the Master Day is Fire, then my Fellows are
symbolized by the Fire. They represent helps, supports, benefactors, brothers
and sisters but also colleagues and rivals: it's thus not always positive.
·
Productions:
this relation is symbolized by the element that You generate.
In our example, the Fire generates the Earth: Productions are thus symbolized
by Earth.
Productions firstly represent intelligence. And we know that too much
intelligence may be as difficult to manage as too little. Productions also
represent the children.
·
Money:
symbolized by the element that You control.
In our example, as the Fire controls Metal, wealth is represented by Metal.
This relation also represents the subordinates and the wife.
·
Power:
represented by the element that controls ME i.e. You.
In our example, Water controls Fire; the Power is thus associated with Water.
A chart with too much power often describes problems due to a too strong
authorization. This relation also indicates the authority we go through: boss,
government, husband....
·
Potential: It
generates ME i.e. You The element generating the stem of the Master Day.
In our example, the Potential will be symbolized by the Wood, which generates
the Fire.
An unbalanced chart with too much Potential is often an indication of wasted
talents. Potential corresponds to the parents and the faithful friends but also
to the disciples, followers, fans, supporters of any kind...
If we include the Day Master itself, we
have thus Six Relations.

Ten Aspects Analysis
0 MAIN PRODUCTION
Productions allow to evaluate the skills of a Person.
In the Cycle of Elements, Productions create Money and soften the Power with
some wisdom. Main Production also symbolizes optimism, idealism and longevity.
No Production at all means difficulty to achieve self-fulfillment, but too many
Productions may create too much precision, especially when the natal element is
weak.
2 ANARCHISTIC PRODUCTIONS.
This kind of Productions is sometimes called
"Anarchistic" or "Revolutionary", because they may be
provocative or original. They symbolize artistic gifts, ambition and pride.
This aspect also controls the Power, but in a more aggressive way.
It is interesting only when the natal element is strong.
4 MAIN MONEY
Money comes from what we control.
This aspect, often related to a lot of efforts, indicates that there are
possibilities to earn money.
But, for that, the natal element must be strong enough.
This aspect also symbolizes projects and plans, investments and sometimes
spirit of adventure...
1 SECONDARY MONEY
This kind of money often indicates money easily earned (inheritance, gambling
gains) or even illicitly earned.
1 MAIN POWER
Symbol of dignity, austerity, discipline and loyalty.
A chart without such an aspect may indicate a dull person, or a dull life. Difficulty
to succeed except during periods (decade, year...)
In a balanced chart, there must be Money to generate Power.
Anyway, too much Power is not good, even Main Power.
3 SECONDARY POWER
This kind of Power is associated with aggressiveness and exaggerated ambition,
which often comes with courage, and self-discipline.
It's better if there are some Productions to control it (especially in an
adjoining Pillar): in this case, Secondary Power reinforces the Main Power, if
it exists.
If there are no Productions, this aspect attacks the natal element, violently
if this natal element is weak.
3 MAIN POTENTIAL
This aspect is related to the help coming from the family and from the
superiors. It speaks of orderliness and of organization. It eases the
constraints, especially those induced by Power.
If this aspect is not present, this is often related with a lot of obstacles,
but too much potential often means rigidity.

This aspect is good at supporting the natal element, if this one needs support.

associated with a Pillar, i.e. a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch, which can
be compared with the Birth Day Pillar (Master Day): the result is a
"climate" for this period.
The piece of information we must firstly examine is the Stem of the Luck Period
(also called Great Passage or Da Yun). It may bring balance to the chart, or,
on the contrary, be noctious.
Some masters say that, inside a decade, during the 5 first years, the stem of
the decade is more influent, but, after the 5th year, the branch influence
regularly increases.

Clash between the Stem or Branch is considered inauspicious
and could possibly cause many problems. In that case you have to control or
destruct those Elements, say for a particular Decade to reduce the negative
effects. In order to reduce the negative

and you should orient your house accordingly.

considered auspicious and we should enhance those elements say for a specific
